The Navarre Institute for Youth (INJ) announces the second edition of the awards for the best final university studies on youth in Navarre, with the aim of contributing to the promotion of studies and research in this area and the realities that affect this population group.
The winning end-of-studies (TFG) or end-of-master (TFM) projects will receive a prize of 1,500 euros. The proposals submitted must deal with youth, in the field of knowledge of the human and social sciences, in themes such as sociology, education, psychology, economics, law, social work or communication.

People under 30, residents of Navarre, holders of the European Youth Card and who have presented and defended their TFG or TFM in the 2020/2021 or 2021/2022 courses can participate. In order to be eligible for the prizes, the work to be presented must have obtained a minimum of 8.00 in its evaluation.
Participants must submit their application by October 1 of this year through the General Electronic Registry, at the headquarters of the Youth Institute of Navarre or at any of the registration offices of the Government of Navarre. Evaluation criteria
Once the presentation period is over, a jury made up of NIJ members will evaluate the proposals received. It can also count on the advice and assistance of the universities located in Navarre: the Public University of Navarre, the University of Navarre and the National University of Distance Education.
Each work can receive a maximum of 100 points and a minimum of 50 must be obtained to be accepted and eligible for the prizes. The jury will select the two best works (first prize TFG and first prize TFM) endowed with 1,500 euros each and the two second best works (accésit TFG and accésit TFM) endowed with 500 euros, which will obtain the highest score. The prizes will be accompanied by their corresponding supporting diploma.
For its assessment, criteria such as the technical quality -foundation, coherence, clarity, methodology used and personal appreciation of the project-, the relevance of the subject treated, its feasibility, its originality and its innovation, as well as the quality of the conclusions and recommendations for the context of the case analyzed. In the same way, it will take into consideration its possible link with the Foral Youth Strategy 2020-2023 and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
28 articles presented in the 1st edition
During the first edition of these awards, 28 proposals were presented. In the Graduation Project category, Itxaso López won first prize for his work “Onlyfans: new forms of pornography among young people”; and Paula Ruíz, the second prize for the project “The hypersexualization of young women in social networks”. Both were students of the degree in social work at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA).
Regarding the category of best master’s thesis, the first prize was awarded to Javier Moracho, for his research “First steps of participation in secondary education centers”; and the second prize was awarded to Alexandra Durán, for the study “Analysis of stories about the role of young people in care”.
This call was born with the aim of promoting social innovation as a social and personal tool in the lives of young people, in addition to promoting interdisciplinary research in youth, to encourage commitment to the impact on public policies of this social group.
