The third edition of the “Los trabajos y las noches” film festival, which will take place in Logroño from December 10 to 17, will screen unreleased films, discuss with high-level filmmakers and organize workshops for the public.

A new appointment with the seventh art that its leaders presented this morning, Patricia Andrés and Fernando Vilchezaccompanied by the director based in Logroño, Velascoof which precisely two of his works will be exhibited, ‘Our friend the moon’ and the award-winning short film ‘Alegrías riojanas’. The two films will be the ones that will open the festival, which will have a jury prize, endowed with 1,000 euros, and another for young audiences for which there will be a trophy.

They explained that during this week, filmmakers from different regions of Spain will visit Logroño to present their films, give keynote speeches on their creative processes and speak with the public: Javier H. Andrés explained that “we screen unreleased Spanish films in the Community of La Rioja. We focus on Spanish cinematography. Our goal is to present a high-level heterodoxy where every night the viewers of Logroño can find a different, contemporary work and quality, whether it be fiction, documentary, short films, animation or experimental cinema. In this way, the public can understand how expansive cinema is as an artistic manifestation and the great time he is going through”.

Vílchez referred to the “meeting between directors with artists from Logroño, as well as with the public of the city itself. The presence of the filmmakers has been essential for us since the first edition, since it comes from the dialogue and the exchange of ideas and experiences where we find new lights to understand the artistic processes. In addition, thanks to this meeting, new links are generated on a personal and professional level with the audiovisual sector of La Rioja”.

In the case of Velasco Broca, he explained that after a brilliant trajectory of festivals and awards with his latest short film, “Alegrías riojanas” (awarded at Fantastic Fest in Austin and Fantastic and Horror Film Week de San Sebastián), presenting at this festival “is really special. The film was created here, in La Rioja, it was shot entirely here, with a team from La Rioja, and that is why it is very important to me to be able to present it here.” In the case of Broca, the festival dedicates a special session to him where you can also see another previous work by the filmmaker from Logroño: “Our friend the moon”.
