The spokesperson for the municipality of Villa Nueva, Byron Morataya, said that the work on the collapse of Calzada Concepción, zone 6 of this municipality, began after a meeting with the authorities of different entities; however, the costs and timelines for the repair work are not yet established.
Morataya reported that last Monday, October 3, the technical table began in which the National Coordinator for Disaster Prevention, the Municipal Development Institute (Infom), the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh), the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV), the Roads Conservation Enforcement Unit and the Commune of Villanovan.

However, he stressed that “for the moment we have not stipulated the investment and the total time of the works, we are waiting for the studies”.
Likewise, Morataya mentioned that: “what we are doing is moving forward with the construction of the provisional collector, which was to be carried out in two weeks, we have been working since the fourth day”.
He added that the temporary collector will have a length of approximately 200 meters in order to divert rainwater so that it does not affect the works on Concepción Boulevard.
THE WORK WILL INCLUDE FIVE PHASES
According to the spokesperson for the municipality of Villa Nueva, the five phases in which the works will be carried out were established in the aforementioned meeting.
“The previous studies, in this one, will be delivered in three weeks, the geological studies, to be able to determine the causes and to be able to give continuity to the project”, he mentioned.

He explained that the first phase is the construction of the provisional collector, while the second envisages the compaction and preparation of the soil for the placement of the collector, which would be the third phase.
He explained that in the fourth phase, complementary works will be carried out, such as the construction of manholes in the sector to direct rainwater.
He claimed that the fifth and final phase will be the completion of Concepción Boulevard with retreading, landscaping and signage.
The Villa Nueva collapse was reported on September 25, where several vehicles, as well as motorcycles fell, including where Olga Emilia Choz Ulín and Hellen Mishell Mejía Choz, mother and daughter, were transported, which remained missing for at least 120 hours.
