More than 40 applications have been submitted for the ninth edition of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Awards organized by A3E, with which it wishes to reward the work carried out by institutions, companies, professionals and students for the benefit energy efficiency and sustainability. Now the association has announced the finalists in each category. The winners will be announced at the A3E Gala on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability to be held on December 13 at the Reina Sofa Museum in Madrid.
The most requested categories at the IX Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Awards were Category A for Commitment to Energy Efficiency and Sustainability and Category B for Best Performance in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability. For this reason, category A has been broken down into A1 (commitment to buildings) and A2 (commitment to industry).
After the jury’s evaluations, a group of outstanding entries and projects were selected in each category:
Category A1: Commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings
- ‘Circular Economy Strategy’, by Garden Hotels.
- ‘New energy-efficient air conditioning equipment without the use of gas’, by Green Eco, SL

Category A2: Commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability in industry

- ‘Solar thermal energy project for the Heineken factory in Seville’, by Engie Espaa.
- ‘Damm Environmental Management System’, by SA Damm.
Category B: Best energy efficiency and sustainability performance
- “Ingeteam’s technology to electrify a ship with a green heart and a blue conscience”, by Ingeteam SA
- ‘Optimized project: development of BMS to improve the efficiency and operation of the air conditioning system in Ciudad BBVA’, by CBRE GWS.
- ‘e-District New concept of buildings, industrial environments and local industrial energy community’, by Mercedes-Benz Spain SAU
Category C: Best End-of-Master’s Energy Efficiency Project
- ‘Managed BIM Energy Certification Method (MECM_BIM)’, by Ronald Rusbell Madera Arnao (University of Navarre).
- ‘Company dedicated to thermal and acoustic insulation’, by Paula Lorenzo Antn (Carlos III University of Madrid).
- ‘Photovoltaic installation in an industrial warehouse in the industrial area of Malpica’, by Alejandro Gidoff Lorn (University of Zaragoza).
Category D: Best Start Up
- ‘#Revamping for the planet!’, by SEC Group
- ‘4.0 energy platform for accelerating energy rehabilitation in the domestic sphere’, by Balantia.
- ‘Bamboo Energy’, by Bamboo Energy S.L.
Category E: Financial institutions and ESG investments
- ‘Using public aid to channel private investment towards energy efficiency’, by Ener2Crowd SRL, subsidiary in Spain.
- ‘Enerfip’ by Enerfip.
- ‘Caja Rural de Asturias is committed to energy efficiency and sustainability. Design of efficient offices and other initiatives’, by Caja Rural de Asturias.
The winners of the prizes will be revealed and the prizes and second prizes will be awarded at the A3E gala on energy efficiency and sustainability, which will be held on December 13 at the Reina Sofa museum in Madrid. Where, in addition, the summary document with the pending projects will be given to all the guests.
