The Town Hall awards the prizes of the XXXIII edition of the Creative Crafts Fair of Seville which promotes the trade of artisans during the Christmas season


The mayor of the city, Antonio Muñoz, participated this Wednesday in the award ceremony of the XXXIII edition of the Fair of Creative Professions of Seville, which remains until January 5, 2023 in Plaza Nueva with the impetus of the area of ​​Economy, Commerce and Tourism and the Federation of Crafts of Seville (FAS) and which brings together 66 workshops of different national origin, of which 36 carry out their activity in Seville and its province, 24 in other regions of Spain and one in France.

This awards gala corresponds to the programming of three fairs for the exhibition and sale of products of these characteristics in collaboration with the FAS in spring, autumn and Christmas for the first time. In the latter, the aforementioned prizes are awarded, which represent an economic endowment of 2,600 euros to be distributed, the delivery of the Carriazo Bronze trophy accompanied by an accreditation diploma to the winners and automatic admission to the edition of the next year without a prior selection process. Also new this year, the Sevilla Bonus can be used to purchase products from this event among artisans participating in the campaign.

The mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, who together with the delegate of economy, trade and tourism, Francisco Páez, and the president of the (FAS), Antonia Rubio, presided over the award ceremony, underlined “the projection of the Sevilla brand that represents the work of all the craftsmen who enrich the Christmas proposal of Plaza Nueva with the support of local customers and tourists and who promote one of the best craft fairs in the country. We must highlight his work that transforms the raw material into authentic, unique and irreplaceable works of art that combine tradition and avant-garde for 21st century products”.

The prize for the best joint work that went to the Reza Baharlou workshop, by the artisan of the same name and whose jury highlighted his continuous effort to show us the difficulty of the work he does to present a product of very high quality and saving a trade in danger of extinction, and for the elaboration and presentation of the pieces that at all times convey to the buyer the feeling that he is taking something unique and special. Also to remind us of our past, that of those romantic travelers who came to Seville in search of its culture.

The prize for the best stand design and image was awarded to the “Margaret de Arcos” workshop of the artisan Camila Puya de Arcos, whose overall image of the work was highlighted, transmitting elegance and a lot of light, creating spaces that invite the customer to go, to approach a high quality product facilitating the possibility of getting to know each room better; for the magnificent organization of the different exhibition spaces, highlighting the clarity and order of the different collections presented; and for the innovation effort, by bringing new parts.

The prize for the best FAS workshop and the best balance sheet was awarded to the “Enuso Cerámica” workshop, led by the artisans Inmaculada Mosqueda Perez and Jesús Sieira, whose jury highlighted their commitment to trade, the sector, the neighborhoods, the federation, with the environment and with our tradition; for their trajectory, because they have shown that with tenacity and effort, they can live well from their work, taking their products throughout the national territory; to be an example of success and circular economy, and to give prestige to such an ancient and noble profession.

Likewise, two “special mentions” and accreditation diplomas are awarded to Cristina Ortiz’s workshop for the quality of the products presented, for its commitment to the environment, for respect for its profession and for bringing the sea closer to Plaza Nueva. Also in this section, Philippe Laffont’s ‘Estampa y Biblio’ workshop was nominated for its continuous innovation in the craft, its long history, its collaboration with other craft workshops, for the quality of its work or for the dissemination of his work with everyone who approaches your stand.
