The twelve new companies of the Parque Principado will create more than a hundred jobs, up to “tripling” the jobs that were in the hyper

Parque Principado negocia con una docena de firms que n’están currently presentes en Asturias y que presevoirmente instalarán en el grand shopping center de Paredes (Siero), en concreto, en espacio que déjó libre la firma Eroski, que cerró ya hace meses, in April. An operation which, in addition, will result in the creation “up to three times more jobs than there were in the hypermarket”, which totaled around forty at the time of the closure of the company .

This was stated yesterday by the manager of the shopping center, Fernando García, after the meeting he had with the mayor of Sierense, Ángel García, at the Siero City Council, to discuss various issues related to the center and to its surroundings.

The relaunch plan for the now empty space provides for the arrival of “a dozen companies that are not in Asturias, among them fashion and home, which will require a lot of staff”, with which there are “very advanced negotiations to fill all the spaces”. The forecast, moreover, is that these new stores could be operational by next summer, since it is estimated that the commercialization of the space could already begin at the end of this year.

The intention of the current managers of the Paredes Shopping Center is to give new air to the west wing of the complex, with a comprehensive intervention that includes the demolition of the old Eroski space and the conditioning of the new commercial premises, with an extension of the main corridor and an integral change of the facade, so that “continuity is given to the whole building”, explains García.

The overall intervention in this space, both interior and exterior, will amount to 7.4 million euros and will act on an area of 13,453 square meters for the redistribution of the space freed up after the demolition of the old hypermarket. The new stores will be refurbished in these spacious premises, and it is also planned that the businesses already located in the corridor of this wing will reform their facades to achieve greater amplitude which will facilitate the transit of buyers. The main change to the exterior will be the intervention on the old facade of Eroski, with several panels and decorative elements in height, adapting to the aesthetic change already carried out in other parts of the Paredes complex.

Work in this regard is progressing “at a good pace” and “we have a lot of ideas for this central area”, adds the manager, before stressing that the agreements with the brands continue to advance and that there will be soon to be good results, both in terms of occupation of available space and job creation.

Fernando García and the mayor of Siero, Ángel García, also agreed yesterday on a collaboration agreement for the total renovation of the sewage collector that was carried out at the time near the commercial area, which has since remained in “a legal void” and which has many shortcomings.

Collector and sanitation

The work, at a cost of 185,000 euros, will also concern the renovation of the sanitary facilities of around thirty private dwellings in the Folgueres district.

The agreement will be made between the Consistory, Parque Principado and Ikea, and it is established that the cost of the project, currently being drafted by an engineering company, will be divided between the three entities, with Parque Principado assuming 65, 66%. of this, Ikea 19.67% and the Siero City Council the remaining 14.67%. Once approved, the Consistory will be in charge of contracting the works and will assume the technical direction of the works.

These will take place from Monday to Thursday during daylight hours, except for the periods between November 15 and January 15, March 31 and April 15 and June 30 and July 15. In addition to these actions, work is planned on the Ikea road which will be carried out outside working hours.
