Conservation, fire prevention, road safety
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Mobility is undertaking these actions as part of the contract with the public company Seaga, worth more than 2.2 million euros, for the control of biomass along the edges of the roads in property region to prevent fires and improve road safety. .
These new conservation actions on the roads belonging to the Xunta will allow, in this new mission, the mechanical clearing of more than 2,600 linear kilometers and will act manually on an area of more than 188,500 square meters.
In addition, more than 5,600 trees located in the public domain of roads, likely to cause fires or present a risk of falling on the roadway, will be felled. Repairs will also be carried out on 22,500 linear meters of fences on the peripheral embankments of the highways.
As a novelty in the 2022 decree, the replacement of 7,500 meters of fences is planned on high-capacity roads that could be damaged during clearing or clearing works. The replacement will be made with reinforced fencing to increase the protection of the road against the entry of animals.
With this new order, since 2018, 8.3 million euros have been invested in actions to control biomass along regional roads.
