The Xunta will begin new clearing and cleaning works on Monday along the regional roads towards the Col de Meira, Ribeira de Piquín, Ourense or Salvaterra de Miño

These interventions will be carried out on the LU-751 highway, in the municipalities of Meira and Ribeira de Piquín; on the OU-510, in Ourense; and on the AG-51 highway, in Salvaterra de Miño

Work will continue on the AC-102 as it passes through Cerdido, in the province of La Coruña; and on the CG-2.2 high-performance road that crosses the municipalities of Lugo d’O Páramo and Sarria

Work will also continue on OU-212 as it passes through Beariz, Avión, Leiro, Carballeda de Avia and Beade; on the OU-504 in Carballiño, Maside and Leiro; on the OU-403 and OU-402 in Ribadavia, Castrelo de Miño and Ourense; and on the VG-3.1 high performance road in San Cibrao das Viñas

The tasks started in recent weeks in different sections of the roads of the province of Pontevedra will continue: AG-46, CG-4.1, VG-4.6 and VG-4.5, in Moaña and Cangas; and on the PO-504, at the Vinquiño roundabout, in Sanxenxo

These new conservation actions on the roads of the Xunta will allow, in this new commission of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Mobility, the mechanical clearing of more than 2,600 linear km and to act manually on an area of ​​more than 188,500 meters squares.

The Xunta will begin this Monday new clearing and cleaning works on the edges of the regional roads that cross the provinces of Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra.

Specifically, next week these interventions will begin on the LU-751 road, in the municipalities of Meira and Ribeira de Piquín; on the OU-510 to Ourense; and on the AG-51 highway to Salvaterra de Miño.

In addition, work will continue on the AC-102, which crosses Cerdido, in the province of A Coruña, and on the CG 2.2 high-performance road, which crosses the municipalities of Lugo, O Páramo and Sarria.

This work will also continue on the roads of the province of Ourense: on the OU-212 which passes through Beariz, Avión, Leiro, Carballeda de Avia and Beade; OU-504 in Carballiño, Maside and Leiro; on OU-403 and OU-402 in the municipalities of Rivadavia, Castrelo de Miño and Ourense; and on the VG-3.1 high performance road in San Cibrao das Viñas.

In the province of Pontevedra, the works started in recent weeks are continuing on different sections of AG-46, CG-4.1, VG-4.6 and VG-4.5, in Moaña and Cangas; and on the PO-504 road, at the Vinquiño roundabout, in Sanxenxo.

Conservation, fire prevention, road safety

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Mobility is undertaking these actions as part of the contract with the public company Seaga, worth more than 2.2 million euros, for the control of biomass along the edges of the roads in property region to prevent fires and improve road safety. .

These new conservation actions on the roads belonging to the Xunta will allow, in this new mission, the mechanical clearing of more than 2,600 linear kilometers and will act manually on an area of ​​more than 188,500 square meters.

In addition, more than 5,600 trees located in the public domain of roads, likely to cause fires or present a risk of falling on the roadway, will be felled. Repairs will also be carried out on 22,500 linear meters of fences on the peripheral embankments of the highways.

As a novelty in the 2022 decree, the replacement of 7,500 meters of fences is planned on high-capacity roads that could be damaged during clearing or clearing works. The replacement will be made with reinforced fencing to increase the protection of the road against the entry of animals.

With this new order, since 2018, 8.3 million euros have been invested in actions to control biomass along regional roads.
