In the neighborhoods of Los Hornos; Transportation; Villa Elsa; Yapeyu; The little frog; North Loyola; and San Agustín, comprehensive works began this year to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of these sectors of the provincial capital.
The interventions are envisaged in the Plan Integrar, with funding from the Secretariat for Socio-Urban Integration of the Nation. The works that are carried out in each of these popular sectors of the provincial capital include a drinking water network, the evacuation of waste water, road improvements, such as the construction of ditch lines, and the establishment of lightening devices.
Regarding the works in the transport district, Mayor Emilio Jatón said during one of his rounds: “It was impossible to talk about sewers in this district because there was no sewage treatment plant and today today it is included in the project”, a phrase that is extrapolated to the rest of the neglected neighborhoods, since they will undoubtedly improve the quality of life of their neighbors.
Regarding what is being done in La Ranita and the neighboring neighborhoods to the north, where the intervention has already exceeded 50% progress, Jatón remarked: “It is work that completes the forgetting of the state in this place. La Ranita was born from a cellar, where there was no water, electricity or drainage. Today we are at 50% of the work and it will change people’s lives”. In this sector of Santa Fe, there will be drinking water, sewers, domestic and storm sewers, public lighting and road network.
It remains to define
On the other hand, the district that awaits a budget definition for its works is the 29 de Abril, where the tasks were tendered last October but the three offers presented far exceed the official budget, which is $ 1,115,759,881.89 . “We are awaiting the response of the Nation to know if we award or have to bid again”, they confided from the municipality before the consultation of El Litoral.
The planned tasks have a duration of execution of 12 months and will benefit some 216 families. The works include a new drinking water network, sewers and storm sewers, public lighting, a road and pedestrian network and urban and community amenities. This project, like the general works in other districts, is part of the Plan Integrar and will be financed by the Secretariat for Socio-Urban Integration.

On the Camino Viejo a Esperanza, through Gobernador Menchaca -a street that starts near the food market and goes to the hippodrome- between Gorriti and the State of Israel, it crosses a large gap of about 2,600 meters, which drains its liquids into the tank behind the Las Flores Racecourse.
During this year, the works of Menchaca Street between Gorriti and Larrea were completed, a work that was designed, projected, carried out and controlled by the municipal government, under the financing of the Nation with an investment of more than 1 000 million dollars.
In the area, 700 meters intervened with a central parterre of seven meters, which includes a cycle path and a pedestrian path. Regarding urban lighting, 48 columns and 72 LED-type artifacts were placed on the central floor. While the executed stormwater collector consisted of two collectors: a secondary one at Camino Viejo a Esperanza for the Gorriti basin and a stormwater collector in the Flores basin.
However, the second stage, which had its first call for tenders at the end of April, is still awaiting completion but was not selected because the companies that submitted their offers did not respect the technical guarantee. Then it was put out to tender again and the single bid went way over the official budget. So far, the Nation has not authorized funding to complete this outstanding step.
The planned works consist of channeling the current drainage, from Larrea to the State of Israel, to obtain a higher runoff of excess rainwater, the same will be carried out in the section of the Risso conduit, which operates today also outdoors.
If this intervention is carried out, the confidence of the local government is that it will take place in 2023, it aims to improve the water situation in the entire Flores basin, which has an area of 887 hectares. In this way, more than 14,000 inhabitants of the Transporte, Belgrano, Pompeya, San José, Las Flores, 21 de Octubre, San Martín, Scarafía, El Tránsito, Juana Azurduy, Juventud del Norte, Santo Domingo and Las Lomas neighborhoods would benefit, who Currently they suffer from problems when the rains are intense.
